I think that's probably a high price. Those are MI speakers........ 418's or 421's I think. The horn is the same, of course. I don't recall what HF driver is used. I've seen this setup discussed before, and the consensous is that they aren't worth what a lot of sellers think they are worth.

The 9264A is the 12" sealed version of my 9864-8A. I have no idea what they sound like, and I don't have the money to find out, either. I wonder where they were originally installed.

Altec 1202 go for $400 generally...the 418 (422) equipped MI are reconable to 416...and the driver can be changed from symbiotik to normal...so a cheap blown up set is the way to go...

He had two ID's becasue of loosing a password. They were something like Racerxtreme, or XXRacersxtreme........ something like that. I've been to his garage, as he helped me get some horns from Gov-Liq.

I think $300 for a pair of cabinets is pretty good.

Looks like Tom beat me too it on one of his ID's. I thought he had gotten rid of these a couple of years ago, but it must have only one pair.

I think these are about an hour from you. Pair Altec Model 19 Speakers | eBay (EDIT---Just noticed--they're from the same seller who has the 9264A's) Seller says the woofers have ceramic magnets -- maybe 416-8C's? (they were used towards the end of the 19's production) He knows about GPA so he has at least a little knowledge........ (Old Guy--was it you who said a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!?) Price may be negotiable--I bought my first pair of Model 19's from a guy in Batavia, NY (about an hour from me) who had them listed on Ebay for $1800. After the auction, when they didn't sell, I emailed him again after a couple of inquiries during the auction and made him an offer of $1000 cash to which he replied "no way". He did send me his phone # and after some back and forth I got them for $1070 cash. Not the best deal in the world on 19's, but a great deal considering they are mint and all original.....

For some reason, I get a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach when I look at these poor, tortured souls.... I can't imagine treating a pair of speakers like this--even ones I don't like!
